1834 Capped Bust Half Dollar. Large date and letters. PCGS graded MS-61. Old green holder. Hint of light gold toning over the soft satiny luster. 1834 was a transition year of sorts at the U.S. mint. A series of minor adjustments occur in the size the the stars, the size of the letters, and date size, and the head of Liberty, which can be either fatter or thinner in its profile. Collectors often try to collect a representative set (PCGS # 6164) .
Estimated Value $400 - 450.
