Lehar, Franz (1870-1948) Hungarian composer of operettas; bandmaster of various Austrian regiments; conductor of Theatre an der Wien. Autograph Letter Signed "Franz" on both sides of a 3½"x5½" card, in German, n.p., n.d. Fine; three words are underlined in blue pencil for emphasis. To "Dear Friend," noting that "Mitislaw" and "Zigeunerliebe" will be performed on the same evening and that parts will be cut. He adds, "Please lend…[Louis] Treumann's costumes to the Ischl Theatre" and mentions conductor (Robert) Stolz. Nice content. With translation and image of Lehar. The consignor has owned this letter since 1973.
