Ptolemaic Egypt. Arsinõe II (d. 270 BC.), wife of Ptolemy II Philadelphos, 285-246 BC. AR Dekadrachm (33.69 g), Alexandria mint, struck c. 253-246 BC. Diademed and veiled head right, lotus scepter at shoulder and behind head; at left Θ. Reverse: Twin cornucopiae bound by fillet. Svoronos 943; cf. BMC p. 43, 15 (different control letter). Smoothing to fields, with resultant tooling in areas. Otherwise very decent metal. Lightly toned. A good "hole filler" of this rare and impressive coinage. Sharpness of Fine.
