Persia - Achaemenid Empire. Time of Darios I to Xerxes II, c. 485-420 BC. Gold Daric (8.38 g). Crowned Persian Royal Hero in kneeling-running stance right, with bow and spear. Reverse: Incuse punch. Carradice Type III-b, Group A/B (pl. XIII, 27). Nicely centered, crisp strike. Very lustrous. Attractive quality. Nearly Extremely Fine.
