Sicily. Gela. c. 485-450 BC. Lot of Five Silver Coins. Included from Jenkins Group II are a Tetradrachm: Charioteer in quadriga / Man-headed bull right (cf. Dewing 598); and a choice Obol: Man-headed bull right / Wheel. From Group I, two Didrachms: Horseman right, with spear / Man-headed bull right, early and late (Jenkins 174) varieties. Lastly, a Litra from Group III: Horse right / Man-headed bull right (cf. Dewing 602). All toned. Inspection suggested. Some with areas of smoothing or light tooling. The Obol choice, on fine metal, with iridescent toning. Lot of 5 coins. Coins average Very Fine, one better and one less.
