Great Britain. Half Pound, ND. S.2520; Fr-217. Elizabeth I, 1558-1603. Mint mark, cross crosslet. Crowned bust of the Queen facing left. Reverse: Crowned shield. Normally a creased, weakly struck coin, this example has an abundance of detail (note the sharpness of the lettering and the lions within the reverse shield). A pleasant light red tone adds to the character of this coin. NGC graded AU-50.
