1878 Morgan Dollar. 7 tail feathers, reverse of 1878. NGC graded MS-63. Lovely blue and gold toning.
Before the working dies are used in the coining presses, they are hardened and tempered. Each working die struck an average of 160,000 Morgan dollars. An average of up to 500,000 Peace dollars were struck per working die, because of more advanced metal technology and because the design was shallower with rounded lettering.
