Lot 989

1871-CC $10 Liberty. ANACS graded EF-45. A decent strike with plenty of detail still present. Honey color gold in appearance with light to moderate abrasions. Traces of original mint luster still adheres to the protected areas about the devices. Only 8085 pieces were struck, as with other early Carson City mint issues, they circulated mainly in the region and saw heavy usage. Of the surviving examples, nearly all are in much lower grade, in fact, the Elisaberg specimen was EF-40.
Estimated Value $7,500 - 8,000.
