1855-D $5 Liberty. NGC graded AU-58. This choice 1855-D is among the nicest you will see. It is lustrous and well struck and fully equal to the two Bass coins in similar grade sold in 1999. The mintage was a low 22,432. Breen-6617. One of two known obverse varieties, this specimen has a tiny die crack from the rim up through the left side of the first 5 of the date. Pop 14, with only 6 finer.
