1844-C $5 Liberty. PCGS graded AU-50. Well struck with surfaces consistent with the grade. Some slight discoloration near the rims, about 9-10 o'clock on obv. & rev., perhaps due to some residue from an old cleaning, but this is not terribly distracting and mentioned only for accuracy. Mintage of 23,631 and rare in this condition. Pop 7 with 23 finer (PCGS # 8220) .
