1842-D $5 Liberty. Small date. NGC graded AU-58. This variety, with a mintage of 37,917, has a small date, letters and mintmark. It is well struck and displays a bit of original luster. Breen-6540, "Very rare above EF." Pop 23, with 3 in 61, 4 in 62 and a single coin in 63.
