Lot 815

1911-D $2.50 Indian. PCGS graded MS-63. Well struck with the mint mark sharp and clear. Rich original mint luster in yellow orange hues and substantially mark free surfaces. The 1911-D is the key date to the Indian Head Quarter Eagle series with only 55, 680 struck, less than one fourth the output of the next lowest mintage date, the 1914. Current population reports indicate only 267 in 63, 225 in 64, 11 in 65 and 4 pieces in 66. A rare opportunity for the date collector to complete a set with this handsome specimen (PCGS # 7943) .
Estimated Value $18,000 - 20,000.

Realized $21,850
