1882 Morgan Dollar. NGC graded Proof 68 Cameo. In the year 1882, the US mint produced 1100 proof strikings of the Morgan dollar. The numismatic community would be thrilled if all were as nice as this coin as so many more collectors could enjoy having one. Alas, there is only this one specimen. And what a specimen it is! The assigned grade will provide a hint at what to expect…virtual perfection, and this beauty will not disappoint. The strike is truly superb with every design detail fully struck up. The fields vary from brilliant mirror silver to dark gray depending on how the coin is held and the heavily frosted devices provide amazing contrast. This coin is so lovely, its hard to not look at it, as it keeps drawing one's gaze. Coin people will understand. This superb brilliant white Gem has a population of only 1, with 2 in 68 Star as best.
