Lot 3115

Great Britain. Copper-Nickel Pattern Proof Halfpenny, 1868. Peck-1794; Freeman-304 (Rarity 17). Although this is a coin which appears from time to time, it is seen with rather less frequency, and a particularly choice specimen such as this one is very difficult to find. Alongside the 1861 copper nickel halfpenny, the coin was produced at the British Royal Mint as an experimental piece probably of 80% copper and 20% nickel. NGC graded Proof 64.
Estimated Value $600 - 700.
The Cheshire Collection.

Realized $575
