Lot 3023

Great Britain. Proof copper Halfpenny, 1839. Victoria Young Head. S-3949. Bronzed. Medal-die alignment. The famous blundered die with oversized "ghosts" of digits "43" beneath the last two digits, "39." Evidently restrikes of these were made, and here is proof: an 1843 die was altered back to 1839. Pleasant enough. Dark brown. NGC graded Proof 64 Brown.
Estimated Value $375 - 425.
The Cheshire Collection.

Realized $518
