Lot 2825

Great Britain. Sixpence, 1853. S.3908; ESC-1699 (Rarity-2); KM-733.1. Victoria. Young head. Lovely deep russet toning. Very Rare and exceptionally choice. From the mysterious sets of this year, somehow related to Victoria's marriage to Albert (it would have been their 13th wedding anniversary year), although no one has ever explained why the 1853 Proofs were struck. NGC graded Proof 65.
Estimated Value $750 - 850.
The Cheshire Collection.
