Great Britain. Pattern Shilling, 1865, struck in copper. Victoria, coronet head. ESC-1389. Plain edge. Engraved by Weiner and Taylor. Date in roman numerals below the reverse shield. Rare. One of a delightful series of the 1860s and 1870s, experiments all, showing off engraving talents. This one is the distinctive "Half Florin" variety. Very choice Proof that is a lovely milk chocolate in color. NGC graded Proof 64 Brown.
