Lot 2720

Great Britain. Silver Crown, 1844. Victoria Young Head. S-3882. "Star" edge stops (not viewable in the slab). It's tempting to call this pleasing coin Choice, for all its marks are just tiny ones. The luster is luscious, "fresh" and bright. Silvery color with a hint of golden hues. Some of the smallest details in the design are not struck up, but overall the impression here is of a sharp, well-made coin. Rare grade. Only a minuscule percentage of the total existing number of Young Head crowns are truly Uncirculated, as this coin decidedly is. NGC graded MS-62.
Estimated Value $2,650 - 3,000.
The Cheshire Collection.
