1936 Buffalo Nickel. Type 1. NGC graded Proof 68. The pristine satiny reflective fields retain full mint radiance. Both sides exhibit incredible toning consisting of a blend of violet and steel blue. Proof Buffalo Nickels, the first produced since 1916, were made in both Satin Finish (type 1) and Brilliant (type 2) formats. Total mintage representing both vanities was 4,420. This eye appealing specimen is indeed a delight to behold. NGC reports 17 at this level with 1 in MS-68 star.
