Lot 1126

1907 $20 St. Gaudens. High relief, Roman numerals, wire rim. PCGS graded MS-63. In the opinion of most observers, this is the most beautiful coin of the USA and there is certainly no disagreement from this part of the room. The presently offered specimen has all one would expect of the type in this grade, excellent strike, handsome textured surfaces, lovely golden color and just a very few contact marks. Designed by Augustus Saint Gaudens, working closely with President Roosevelt, only 11,250 were minted of this high relief variety with the date in Roman numerals. If you've been waiting for one in this state of preservation, here's your opportunity (PCGS # 9135) .
Estimated Value $20,000 - 22,500.

Realized $25,875
