Sharman, Bill - U.S.C. Letterman Sweater. This U.S.C. letterman sweater was worn by basketball Hall of Famer Bill Sharman while he played for U.S.C. (1946-50). There is some wear to the S.C. logo on the heavy wool cardigan, as well as on the collar tag. Sharman's name was chain-stitched inside the sweater, but only "Sha" remains. In 1949 and 1950, Sharman was honored as a college All American athlete. He won four NBA championships with the Celtics and was an eight-time NBA All-Star. He was the only coach to win championships and coach of the year honors during the same season in three different professional leagues, and one of only three people (John Wooden and Lenny Wilkens are the other two) to be enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame as both a player and a coach.
