Pickford, Mary (1893-1979) One of the most popular stars in the history of film; co-founder of United Artists Corporation; 1929 Academy Award winner. Original vintage 13 x 10¼ in. photograph by Edwin Bower Hesser, whose stamp is on the mount, just below the photo. A lovely, sepia-toned, chest-up photo, one of many Hesser made of Miss Pickford. Hesser's business card is affixed to the 19½ x 15 inch mount, and Miss Pickford is identified in pencil. This photo has been in storage for 40+ years, since Hesser's death.
