Lot 1516

Lombard, Carole (1908-1942) Comedienne; known as the "Screwball Queen of the Screen." Three original vintage 13¼ x 10¼ in. photographs by Edwin Bower Hesser, c. late 1920s or early 1930s. Hesser's embossed imprint is at the lower edge of all three and his stamp is on the verso. All are sepia-toned head and shoulders portraits that focus on Miss Lombard's startlingly beautiful eyes. These photos have been stored for over 40 years, since Hesser's death. One photo has a "bite" missing at lower left corner; one has been trimmed slightly at right edge, and there are a couple of faint edge blemishes. Stunning!
Estimated Value $600 - 800.

Realized $3,105
