Dean, James. Unpublished 14 x 11" black and white photo by photographer Roy Schatt, signed by Schatt on the verso above his stamp. A brooding, waist-up portrait of Dean from the "Torn Sweater Series." Roy Schatt was Dean's photography teacher. In the course of their studies of photography, they took many pictures of each other in New York. Schatt was the unofficial photographer for the Actor's Studio in New York. His work is displayed at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC.
