Perkins, Carl (1933-1998) Pioneer of rockabilly music; songwriter whose most famous song was "Blue Suede Shoes." Document Signed, Nashville, Tennessee, April 6, 1964, 1p. folio. A contract between Perkins and Cedarwood Publishing Co., Inc. regarding a song Perkins wrote called "Big Bad Blues." Perkins signed in blue ink. Perkins' recording of "Blue Suede Shoes" was the first record to top the pop, country, and rhythm and blues charts. The song became one of Elvis Presley's first hits. Perkins was inducted into the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
