Cripple Creek, Colorado - 1897. An Independent Nomination Certificate made by 50 voters representing The People's Party for the second ward officers, for the municipal election of April 6, 1897, 14 x 11½ inches; the notary public's official paper is attached. Two other documents list the names and addresses in Cripple Creek of the 50 voters. Some staining and age wear. Bob Womack's discovery of gold in October 1890 made Cripple Creek a booming gold-mining town.
