Ethiopian Ivory Bracelets. Such jewelry was worn for protection from evil spirits as much as for decoration. Lot of Two, from the province of Gorma Gofer. Circa 1700s. The weight of the pieces are 6.4 and 6.2oz. Due to aging, the ivory has a light yellow hue. Very Good.
Estimated Value $250 - 350.
The ivory was not poached. It was obtained as result of tribal rituals in which the entire animal was utilized.
