Victoria Cross Winners. The Victoria Cross, the highest British decoration for valor, was instituted by Queen Victoria in 1856 and awarded to any rank of the armed forces for outstanding gallantry in the face of an enemy.

Two 50th Anniversary First Day Covers Signed.

A.) "Gallantry -- 50th Anniversary of the George Cross." First Day Cover featuring five George Cross stamps and three 50th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain postmarks. Signatures include, John Kenneally, Bill Reid, Phillip Gardner, Hans Jamiesen, and Eric Wilson.

B. "50th Anniversary of WWI." First Day of Issue, September 2, 1995, Honolulu. Signed by the pilot of the Enola Gay, Paul Tibbets, as well as five winners of the British Victoria Cross.
