Krushchev, Nikita Sergeyevich. Signed by Krushchev and countersigned by Kirichenko. 1894-1971. Soviet statesman, first secretary of the Soviet Communist Party following the death of Stalin (1953-64). Prime Minister (1958-64). His failed attempt to install missiles in Cuba precipitated the Cuban Missile Crisis (1962).

Typed Document Signed. One page, Quarto, Kiev, March 21, 1944. To General Radion Yakovlevich Malinovsky, Commander in Chief of the 3rd Ukranian front. Interesting military letter of encouragement written during the height of World War II, congratulating the Soviet General on his recent victories over German forces. Krushchev writes, in full:

"Dear Radion Yakovlevich! Please accept our friendly congratulations with the big government award - Order of Suvorov! We are proud of the great victories of the 3rd Ukranian Front. We wish you and your troops new big successes in the fights with German aggressors for the full freedom of the Soviet land." .
