Hindenburg, Paul Von. Tiny tear at bottom center. (1847-1934) German general and president (1925-34). In World War I, he won victories over the Russians (1914-15), but was forced to direct the German retreat on the Western Front (to the Hindenburg line) A national hero, he became the second president of the German Republic in 1925, re-elected in 1932 and appointed Hitler Chancellor in 1933.

Portrait Signed. Approximately 8 x 9", black and white, n.d., Berlin. A reproduction of a sketched rendering of the leader. A classic bust portrait of Hindenburg in his military attire. Extravagantly signed in pencil below his likeness. Very Good.
