Sicily. Syracuse. Agathokles, 317-289 BC. Gold Double Dekadrachm (4.27 g), struck c. 295 BC. Helmeted head of Athena right. Reverse: Thunderbolt; king's titles. SNG Cop. 778 var. Repair at bottom edge; some cleaning marks. Also, Electrum 25 Litrae, struck c. 310-305 BC.: Apollo head left / Kithara (SNG Cop. 708, as time of Dionysius). Probably ex jewelry, the obverse a little polished-looking, Not bad lot -- the first, with especially good eye appeal. Lot of 2 coins. First, Sharpness of Extremely Fine; second, Very Fine.
