1928 $20 St. Gaudens. NGC graded MS-66 Star. A second superb gem Saint Gaudens double eagle given the "star" designation by the expert graders at NGC. This example boasts uniform rich yellow gold surfaces and hints of olive iridescence. A soft velvety luster exists on all surfaces, especially the devices. Another wonderfully original double eagle that has never appeared in the numismatic market place since its original purchase directly from the Mint at the time of issue. NGC population of 35 in MS-66 with only 32 finer.
