Lot 2699

1924-S $20 St. Gaudens. PCGS graded MS-63. Sharply struck and exhibiting rich gold coloration. The only mark is a shallow scuff in the left obverse rays. Hints of rose accent the surfaces. Olive highlights enhance the already choice reverse eye appeal. A rare issue in MS-63 and MS-64, the 1924-S is virtually unobtainable in gem condition. Many of the mintmarked "Saints" from the 1924 to 1927 time period are being gobbled up by collectors and investors and one would be wise to acquire this choice example. PCGS population of 135 in MS-63 with 69 finer, almost all of which are MS-64 (PCGS # 9179) .
Estimated Value $5,500 - 6,000.
