Lot 2435

1911-D $10 Gold Indian. PCGS graded AU-55 PQ. Finely granular surfaces with remnants of original mint frost. The obverse is well struck and lacking any abrasions or marks that could be considered "out-of-place". On the reverse above E PLURIBUS UNUM, there is an area where a small wipe occurred. The 1911-D has the smallest mintage for this entire series, only 30,100 pieces. Mint state survivors above MS-61 are seriously rare and the collector looking for a nice and relatively affordable example would be wise to acquire the present example of this "key-date" rarity (PCGS # 8869) .
Estimated Value $1,500 - 1,600.
The Michael M. Magdic Collection.

Realized $2,415
