Lot 2275

1893-CC $5 Gold Liberty. PCGS graded MS-62. A high quality example of a Carson City example seldom seen in pleasing mint state condition, or any mint state condition for that matter. Often, this issue comes heavily dipped and "lifeless" but not this crusty little devil. Rich yellow surfaces are finely granular and have an original delicate frost. The only marks are some trivial hairlines and they truly are quite faint. The mintmark is tilted down to the left. A frosty, choice example that bidders should pay special attention to as there are only 2 MS-63's at PCGS and only 4 MS64's as finest (PCGS # 8384) .
Estimated Value $2,500 - 2,800.
The Michael M. Magdic Collection.

Realized $4,140
