1799 Draped Bust Dollar. 8 stars left, 5 right. . BB-159. NGC graded VG-10. A very scarce variety in strong demand in today's market of early U.S. material. Several light to moderate rim bruises are noted on the obverse and reverse rims. An old cleaning left hairlines on the obverse. The reverse has a touch of iridescent toning that has come about purely from time. Two tick marks are in the field just below LI of LIBERTY. A nice example of this rare variety which is quickly identified by the arrangement of the obverse stars, 8 left and 5 right.
