Lot 1054

1795 Flowing Hair Half Dime. . LM-10, V-4, Rarity-3. PCGS graded MS-63. Rich pewter surfaces with a light streaks of beige hues. Deep steel blue and golden iridescence explodes when the fields are tilted. Light die clashing is seen in the left and right obverse fields, expected for this variety. A thin pin scratch from star 5 to the back of Liberty's head is the only mark to mention. Strike weakness is common on this issue while obverse strike is above average, a touch heavier of weakness exists on the eagle's left wing. A relatively common die marriage but seldom seen in this grade with this much originality! We feel that choice and original early type has a very solid foundation upon which to grow in demand. PCGS population of 42 in this grade, 18 in MS-64, 8 in MS-65, 6 in MS-66 and 3 in MS-67 (PCGS # 4251) .
Estimated Value $13,000 - 14,000.
