Large and Handsome Oxyrhynchus Fish in Bronze. Egypt, Late Period, 663-342 B.C. Classic depiction of this fish found in the Nile and sacred to the Egyptians. Wearing elaborate four-tiered collar of beads and Crown of Hathor, the incised details are sharp, with an attractive green patina. Length: 6.4". Original support is missing; otherwise, very well-preserved. There is restoration to the crown, mainly to the tips.
