(Kennedy, John F.). Extremely rare color photograph of President Kennedy, taken on Wednesday, November 20, 1963, with members of a committee that was meeting in his office to plan a gala in January celebrating the third anniversary of his inauguration. JFK stands in his office with actresses Lena Horne and Carol Lawrence, Democratic National Committee Chairman John Bailey, and other members of the committee. The photograph, taken by Cecil Stoughton, is accompanied by a letter on Interstate Commerce Commission letterhead and written by the husband of one of the women in the photograph. Signed "Jack" and addressed "To our families and a few close friends," It says, in part, "Here is a wonderful picture for you from Dorothy and me….this one has great, special significance. It is the last picture taken of President Kennedy in his office in the White House….The picture was taken on Wednesday, November 20, and he left Thursday morning on the fateful trip to Texas…." A historic photograph, in fine condition.
