Lot 4521

(Kennedy Assassination). An exceedingly rare set of six original black and white photographs, each 5 x 4 in., showing Air Force One, the Kennedys and Lyndon Johnson on the night of Nov. 21 and at Love Field in Dallas on Nov. 22, the day of the assassination. The first two photos show Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy greeting people at a receiving line at the airport; the third photo shows Lyndon Johnson descending the stairway from the plane. The last three photos Air Force One taxiing at Love Field, John Kennedy (back to camera) and Jackie greeting a military officer, and a side view of Kennedy shaking the same officer's hand, just prior to leaving in the motorcade that was to be President Kennedy's final journey. A letter of provenance states that the photographs were taken by a military photographer traveling with the Presidential party and that the photos were obtained in 1964 from the brother-in-law of the photographer. Overall very good.
Estimated Value $300 - 500.
