Lot 974

Morgan Dollar. 1893-CC. PCGS graded MS-64 PQ. The Carson City Mint produced only 677,000 dollars in 1893 and this is one of the finest survivors from that number! Soothing and almost flawless satiny surfaces. This "gem" example should be sent back to PCGS for upgrade. Identified by a small lint mark coming off the left side of the lower loop of the 8 in the date and continuing to the border below. This completely fresh example was purchased by Wayne Miller from Don Harris in 1972 (as noted when the Miller Collection was sold). Therefore over the past 32 years, two individuals have owned this specimen and now it is time to "pass the torch". PCGS has graded 321 in MS64 with only 7 examples achieving the MS65 grade. (PCGS # 7222) .
Estimated Value $7,500 - 10,000.
Ex-Wayne Miller Collection; as Superior Galleries, January 28-28, 1986, Lot # 1304.

Realized $14,375
