Lot 973

Morgan Dollar. 1892-CC. PCGS graded MS-65 PQ. Deeply reflective fields behind a totally "frosted" Liberty will leave everyone who views this example wondering what happen to the "PL" or "DMPL" letters that should be accompanying the grade. Well struck and just as absolutely pleasing as a top-notch example of this issue could be! Faint die crack through the date, stars, E.PLURIBUS and UNUM. The face and cheek of Liberty are far above the average gem example seen. When catalogued in the Wayne Miller Collection this piece was described as "Superb Gem Deep Mirror Prooflike. One of the Finest Known specimens" and we are sure most of you will agree with that view. PCGS population of 187 in MS65, 16 in MS66 and 2 in MS67 (PCGS # 7214) .
Estimated Value $5,000 - 6,000.
Ex-Wayne Miller Collection; as Superior Galleries, January 28-28, 1986, Lot # 1300.
