Liberty Seated Dollar. 1863. PCGS graded Proof 64. Light sky blue toning rests on lightly toned reflective fields. A choice example of this Civil War date proof dollar. Liberty is frosty, mark free and well struck. There appears light hairlines in the fields. Identified by a small planchet flake to the right of star 5. The eagle on the reverse is just as clean as Liberty and a light gray patina enchances the flashy fields. Proof 1863 dollars, with a mintage of 460, are more available in this grade than the business strikes and that makes this even more desirable as a type coin for the collector. In an old PCGS green label holder. PCGS has graded 31 in PR64 with 3 in PR65 and 6 in PR66 as finest (PCGS # 7006) .
Estimated Value $4,500 - 5,500.

Realized $5,405
