Draped Bust Dollar. 1796. Small date, small letters. Bolender-2. Rarity-2. VG-8 Cleaned long ago. A light gray example of this very tough Bust Dollar which exhibits fine hairlines on both surfaces from a cleaning some time ago. Struck just a tad off-center, noticed heaviest on the reverse from 2:00-6:00. Rims are full and unbruised. Ample amount of detail left on all devices and lettering. This die pairing, Small Date with Small Letters, is very tough to locate and appears in the marketplace at a significantly lower rate than the Small Date, Large Letters; Large Date, Large Letters and Large Date, Small Letters varieties.
