Lot 823

Barber Half Dollar. 1913. PCGS graded MS-64. A lovely white and lustrous example of this scarce date. Light die polish lines can be seen in both the obverse and reverse fields. Identified by a small patch of planchet roughness at star 4. Sharply struck and the cheek mark free. Only 188,000 Barber half dollars were minted at Philadelphia this year, making the Philadelphia issues scarcer than those struck at Denver and San Francisco. Choice near gem example like this coin can be a challenge to locate. PCGS reports 20 in this grade with only 12 in MS65 and 5 in MS66 as the finest (PCGS # 6527) .
Estimated Value $2,000 - 2,300.

Realized $2,300
