Flowing Hair Half Dollar. 1795. Overton-102. Rarity-5. PCGS graded VG-8. Nice even wear over an antique silver-gray planchet. Two small pin scratches just under Liberty's flowing hair bust. Lettering and border detail strong everywhere except stars 10-13 where strike weakness resulted from unequal striking pressure. A diagonal hairline scratch across the reverse, angled upwards from the bottom left. Totally original example and early Flowing Hair half dollars in this grade are one of the most collectible issues around these days. Housed in an older green label PCGS holder (PCGS # 6052) .
