Republican Rome. c. 275-270 BC. Aes Grave As (304.61 g). Diademed head of Apollo right, on raised circular background; I above. Reverse: Diademed head of Apollo left, on raised circular background. T-V 8; Craw. 18/1; Haeb. pl. 34; Syd. AG 43. Variegated black, brown, and dark olive patina. In extraordinary high relief -- the left-facing head in fact a fine sculpture! Choice Very Fine.
