Pontic Kingdom. Mithradates VI, 120-63 BC. Gold Stater (8.29 g), Kallatis mint. Time of the 1st Mithradatic War, 88-86 BC. Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, with horn of Ammon. Reverse: Athena Nikephoros seated left, arm at shield, trident in exergue; HPO monogram above knee. AMNG 258; SNG Sweden 838 (same obverse die). Usual slight die rust to obverse. Reverse fields very lustrous; residual luster to obverse. Nearly Extremely Fine, probably as struck.
