Sicily. Zankle (Messana), c. 515-493 BC. AR Drachm (5.1 g). Rare. Dolphin leaping left within sickle-shaped line representing the city's harbor; ethnic below. Reverse: Scallop shell at center of incuse Cop. 388; SNG ANS 300. Metal with areas of heavy porosity, but flan complete and strike sharp. Comes with very old coin ticket. Very Fine.
