1869 Pattern Half Dollar. Silver, reeded edge. Judd-742. Pollock-823. PCGS graded Proof 64. Dark violet central toning with orange-gold highlights at the periphery. One of the more appealing designs of Liberty, with the multi-starred phrygian cap, is found on this Standard Silver half dollar. The reverse is darkly toned with gun-metal blue and teal toning. A lustrous, near-gem example. PCGS has graded only 10 in this grade with a single PR65 as the finest (PCGS # 60969) .
